Descrizione: This presentation covers the development of control centers from the days of the first digital SCADA systems in the 1960s and the EMS in the 1970s that enabled online network applications like state estimators, contingency analysis, and optimal power flow. The development of the operator training simulator (OTS) also occurred in the same time frame. The use of communications and computers has now spread to the distribution systems and the DMS has been installed to operate the distribution systems. These systems are of particular interest in the framework of energy transition to ensure a secure and affordable energy supply.
