Si informano gli studenti iscritti ai Corsi di Laurea Magistrale in Ingegneria, Fisica e Matematica * che sono aperte le manifestazioni di interesse per partecipare alla LabVIEW and Testing Technologies Academy.
Cosa include il programma?
- Lezioni frontali al Dipartimento con professori universitari e docenti aziendali
- 150 ore di tirocinio e stage in azienda
- Conseguimento della Certificazione CLAD
Modalità di accesso e agevolazioni:
- L'attività formativa consente il riconoscimento di 15 CFU come esame a scelta
- Per 12 studenti il corso è completamente finanziato dalle aziende partner (il bando per accedere alle agevolazioni verrà pubblicato a breve sui canali di comunicazione del Dipartimento di Ingegneria)
- Il corso è a numero chiuso, per un massimo di 24 partecipanti.

L’8 maggio 2026 il Barton Park ospiterà l’Open Day dell’Università degli Studi di Perugia, una giornata dedicata all’orientamento universitario e alla presentazione dell’offerta formativa dell’Ateneo.
Nel corso dell’evento sarà possibile incontrare docenti, studentesse e studenti, ricevere informazioni sui corsi di laurea e laurea magistrale, conoscere i servizi universitari e approfondire le opportunità formative e professionali offerte da UNIPG.
Anche il Dipartimento di Ingegneria sarà presente con spazi dedicati ai propri percorsi formativi, alle attività laboratoriali e ai diversi ambiti dell’ingegneria, per accompagnare i futuri studenti nella scelta del percorso universitario più vicino ai propri interessi e obiettivi.
L’iniziativa è rivolta alle studentesse e agli studenti delle scuole superiori, alle famiglie e a tutti coloro che desiderano conoscere da vicino la realtà universitaria.

Il giorno 4 maggio alle ore 16:30 presso l'Aula Magna di Ingegneria, il Dr. Ricardo Marroquim terra' un seminario dal titolo "From Pixels to Perception: Beyond Napoleon’s White Horse".

Abstract
"What was the colour of Napoleon’s white horse?" This classic riddle highlights a fundamental challenge in visual computing: we cannot truly define colour without accounting for the entire environment: the scene, the light, and the observer. In this seminar, I will explore the transition from isolating the physical properties of a material to the complex, contextual reality of human-centric visualization.
The presentation traces a research trajectory from the development of innovative, low-cost digitization strategies for Cultural Heritage at CNR-Pisa and in Brazil, to current work at TU Delft on the high-fidelity modelling of material appearance through advanced BRDF and microsurface acquisition. We will examine the perceptual intricacies that arise when moving from pure radiometry to the "human-in-the-loop" challenges of immersive displays. I will then showcase a series of recent human-centric XR-related research such as Social & Infrastructure, Healthcare, and Education.

Ricardo Marroquim is an Assistant Professor at the Computer Graphics and Visualization Group at TU Delft. His research focuses on the intersection of high-fidelity rendering and immersive human-computer interaction, with a strong emphasis on practical applications in cultural heritage, medicine, and education. https://graphics.tudelft.nl/~marroquim/

Venerdì 27 Febbraio 2026 alle ore 15.30-17.30, nell'Aula Magna del Polo di Ingegneria, Marco Turchi terrà un seminario dal titolo "From the Academy to the Industry: My Parachute-Free Plunge into the Corporate World".
Abstract
After dedicating nearly two decades to a fulfilling career in Academia, I found myself at a crossroads four years ago. In a moment of what some might call madness, but I prefer to think of as inspired courage, I made the decision to leave the familiar halls of higher education, PhD students, and publications for the dynamic and fast-paced world of Zoom Communications. This move was driven by a desire to challenge myself in the industry and to validate my years of applied research in a new, practical context. The transition from the structured environment of academia to the ever-evolving landscape of a tech giant like Zoom was both daunting and exhilarating. It represented not just a change in the workplace but a fundamental shift in my professional identity and day-to-day reality. In this presentation, I'll share my journey and insights, distilling the key lessons I've learned in the AI industry. I aim to provide you with a valuable insider's perspective on the dynamic world of industrial artificial intelligence.
Bio
Marco Turchi (M) is the head of the machine translation activities at Zoom Communications. He received his PhD degree in Computer Science from the U. of Siena, Italy, in 2006. Before joining Zoom in 2022, he led the machine translation unit at Fondazione Bruno Kessler, worked at the European Commission Joint Research Centre, the University of Bristol, the Xerox Research Centre Europe, and Yahoo Research Lab. His research activities focus on various aspects of sequence-to-sequence modelling and large language modelling applied to machine translation, speech translation, and automatic post-editing. He has co-authored more than 200 scientific publications and served as a reviewer for international journals, conferences, and workshops. He is the co-organiser of the Conference on Machine Translation, the Conference on Spoken Language Translation, and the automatic post-editing evaluation campaigns. He has been involved in several EU projects such as SMART, Matecat, ModernMT, QT21, MateDUB, and Meetween. He was the recipient of the Amazon AWS ML Research Awards on the topic of end-to-end spoken language translation in rich data conditions.

- Studio di fattibilità e sviluppo di un sistema di imballaggio/immagazzinamento automatizzato per prodotti aeronautici.
- Analisi del processo di riparazione e revisione di prodotti aeronautici (MRO) con sviluppo di video-procedure a supporto della produzione.
- Progettazione e sviluppo di un sistema per gestione automatizzata delle risorse e della logistica interna.
- Mappatura del processo di gestione attrezzature per la produzione e sviluppo di soluzioni tecnologiche innovative
