The institution of any extra exam sessions, in addition to those approved by the Intercorso di Laurea (CIL) Council, is governed by the following criteria:

  • Extra exam sessions must be primarily reserved for graduating students and, in any case, only for students who are NO MORE THAN ONE EXAM from completing their study plan.
  • Extra exam sessions are instituted at the discretion of the instructor, to whom interested students should contact to request their opening.
  • The instructor may independently decide on the criteria for granting or denying an extraordinary exam, taking into account, but not limited to, principles such as the usefulness of the exam, the justified urgency or criticality underlying the request, the number of students potentially interested, and the distance from official exams.
  • If the instructor institutes extraordinary exams, he or she must notify the President, who will inform the CIL, and the Teaching Secretariat, which will publicize the announcement through institutional student communication channels.
  • The President of the CIL will have the right to propose different dates for the appeal, rather than denying it, based on critical issues that may emerge from the CIL consultation, or other considerations of general interest. If the President of the CIL fails to respond within one week of the communication, the tacit consent criterion will apply.
