Erasmus+ Traineeship Program

IThe Erasmus+ Traineeship Program allows students to undertake a period of work experience at a foreign company or organization. The work experience can be carried out as part of the course of study (pre-degree work experience) or after completion of the course of study (post-degree work experience). In the first case, completing a mobility internship may result in the recognition of credits (CFU) provided that the internship is included in the student's study plan. The internship can also be: predefined, i.e., carried out under an agreement between UniPG and another partner institution, or an independent internship, i.e., carried out outside of an agreement between UniPG and a partner institution.

The institution/organization where the internship is to be carried out must fall exclusively into one of the following categories:

  • higher education institution holding an Erasmus Charter;
  • public or private body active in the labor market or in the fields of education, training, and youth.

By way of example, such organizations may be:

  • small, medium, or large public or private enterprises (including social enterprises);
  • local, regional, or national public bodies
  • social partners or other representatives of the world of work, including chambers of commerce, craft associations, professional associations, and trade unions;
  • research institutes;
  • foundations;
  • schools/institutes/education centers (at any level, from pre-school to secondary, including vocational education, tertiary education, and continuing education);
  • non-profit organizations and associations and NGOs;
  • bodies providing career guidance, professional counseling, and information services, and employment agencies.
Brief description of the procedure for undertaking mobility for internship purposes

Every year, in the early months, the selection call is published. The call provides detailed instructions on how to apply, information on financial support, and the criteria used to evaluate applications. At the end of the call for applications, the Departmental Erasmus Committee evaluates the applications and draws up a ranking list. In the case of an independent internship, the application must be accompanied by a Learning Agreement signed by the host institution/company. In the case of a predefined internship, the Learning Agreement can be submitted at the time of registration (application) at the host university. The Learning Agreement describes the internship project, the mobility period, and any credits that will be recognized. The Learning Agreement must be approved by the Department Delegate and the host institution. At the end of the stay abroad, if credit recognition is provided for, the Department Erasmus Committee will recognize the credits acquired on the basis of the Certificate of Traineeship.

Requirements

To participate in the Erasmus program, students must be regularly enrolled at the University of Perugia for the current academic year and have adequate knowledge of the language of the host country or English at least equal to the level required by the partner institution or, for independent internships, equal to the level required in the Learning Agreement.
Knowledge must be proven by a level certificate issued by CLA UNIPG or an international certification recognized by the University that is currently valid. The criteria used to draw up the merit ranking include academic performance (average and number of credits earned), knowledge of the language required by the host university (appropriately certified), and the reasons for participating in the mobility program (described by the candidate in a motivation letter).
